FAQs
Got a question? We're here to help.
You'll receive an email invitation from BlueNotary, our secure notarization platform, with a direct link to join your session. Simply click the link at your scheduled time. Make sure you have a device with a working camera, microphone, and a stable internet connection.
You need one of the following: a valid U.S. driver's license or state ID, a U.S. passport, a U.S. military ID, or a valid passport from any country. Foreign passports are accepted even without a U.S. immigration stamp. The ID must be current (not expired) and the photo must clearly match your appearance. During the identity verification process, you will be asked to capture or upload images of your ID. For driver's licenses or state IDs, this typically includes both the front and back. For passports, you will use the identification page with your photo and details. You will also complete a live photo capture to confirm your identity.
Identity verification is completed through the BlueNotary platform using secure identity verification technology. This typically includes biometric facial recognition, where your live image is matched to your government-issued ID. Florida law also permits knowledge-based authentication (KBA) as an alternative method, which involves answering questions based on U.S. credit and public records (past addresses, loan amounts, or vehicle registrations). KBA generally has a higher failure rate, especially if you're not a U.S. citizen, have limited credit history, recently immigrated, or have errors in your public records. A failed attempt typically triggers a 24-hour waiting period before you can try again. We default to biometric verification because it is faster and more accessible, especially for international signers.
Yes, the document itself can be in any language. However, the notarial statement (the legal text the notary signs and seals) must be in English. Our notaries are trained to ensure that the correct notarial statement is included and that it meets the requirements of the Florida Department of State. If your document doesn't already have one, the notary will attach the appropriate notarial text (acknowledgment or jurat) during the session.
If your order includes apostille service, we will automatically proceed with the apostille after your notarization session is completed. If your order includes expedited processing, the apostille is typically completed within 72 business hours. Orders with standard processing generally take 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the Florida Department of State. If you would like to add apostille service to an existing order, you can open a support ticket and our team will update your order accordingly.
Yes. Florida remote online notarization allows signers to participate from anywhere in the world. As long as you have a valid government-issued ID, a device with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection, you can complete the session remotely. Identity verification, generally using a passport for international signers, must be successfully completed through the platform, and the session must be conducted over live audio and video for the notarization to proceed.
Your booking confirmation email includes a unique link that allows you to manage your appointment. You can use this link to reschedule, cancel, or update your session details at any time. We also include the manage booking link in the calendar event description.
During the session, you will first complete identity verification through the platform. Once verified, the notary will confirm your identity, and guide you through the electronic signing process and complete the notarization by applying their electronic signature and seal.
Yes. Each additional signer is $20, which includes their own biometric identity verification. All signers must join the same video session with their own valid government-issued photo ID. Each signer will complete identity verification individually.
Some documents require one or more witnesses depending on the type of document and its intended use. If witnesses are required, they must be present during the session, appear on video, and complete identity verification with a valid government-issued ID. If you do not have a witness available, we offer a witness add-on service for $25 per witness and will coordinate this for your session to ensure everything is completed properly. If you are unsure whether your document requires witnesses, we recommend confirming with the requesting authority or your attorney before the session.
Yes. Remote Online Notarization is fully authorized under Florida Statutes Chapter 117. RON notarizations carry the same legal weight as traditional in-person notarizations, and they're recognized throughout all 50 U.S. states under the Full Faith and Credit Clause. The electronic seal uses tamper-evident cryptographic technology; if anyone alters even a single character after notarization, the seal breaks and the change becomes detectable.
Check your spam/junk folder first, the invitation comes from BlueNotary, not from Florida Translate directly. If you still can't find it, open a support ticket, or contact us at info@floridatranslate.com or 321-290-1810 and we'll resend it or verify the email address on file.
